How This Site Is Funded
Amazon commission, disclosed in full. What that does and does not buy.

Crease Control earns affiliate commission. When you buy something through a link on this site, the retailer pays us a percentage of the sale. You pay exactly the same price you would have paid otherwise — the commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not out of your pocket.

Which links earn
Every buy button on this site points at Amazon, and every one of those earns. They are marked `#ad`, they carry `rel="sponsored nofollow"`, and they open in a new tab through an on-site `/go/` link so we can see which pages actually help people rather than only which pages get traffic.
We are not currently part of any other affiliate network. Where we mention Steamery or Jiffy Steamer, we earn nothing on that link and the page says so. That is the normal state of a publication this new, not a gap we are hiding.
What the commission does not buy
- A place in the ranking. Positions come from a published rubric computed from specifications each maker publishes. Anyone can reproduce it.
- A better write-up. Every product page carries a 'who should not buy it' line, including the ones we earn most on.
- A recommendation we do not believe. Our linen verdict tells readers to buy an iron, on the highest-demand fabric question in our category. There is nothing on that page for us to earn from.
- Silence about a bad product. Every roundup names at least one unit we would not buy.
Prices
Prices shown here come from a live data layer with a 48-hour freshness gate, and each carries the date it was verified. If the data is older than that, no number is shown and the button reads Check price on Amazon instead. Prices change constantly and the retailer's page is always the authority — we would rather send you there than print a figure that has gone stale.
What we do not accept
- Sponsored placements. None, ever. No brand has paid to appear here and none can.
- Free products. We have not been sent anything, which is also why we do not claim to have tested anything.
- Paid links or guest posts. Not accepted.
- Payment for a specific rating or ranking position. Not accepted, and the published rubric exists partly so that would be visible if it happened.
Why we tell you all of this
Partly because the FTC requires it — an endorsement has to disclose a material connection, clearly and where the reader will see it before they click, which is why there is a disclosure line above the first link on every commercial page rather than only here. And partly because this site's entire argument is that it says what it actually knows. A publication that hid how it made money would not be worth reading on anything else.
