Privacy Policy

Crease Control is a publication operated by Slate Mill Group. This page explains what happens to your data when you visit. It is deliberately short: this is a site that publishes articles, not one that builds profiles.

What we collect

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful — page views, approximate location at country or city level, device type, and how visitors arrive. Google may set cookies to do this. We use it to decide what to write next, not to identify individuals, and we do not attempt to link this data to a person.

We also record when someone clicks an outbound buy link, as an event with the page path and the product. That is how we tell which pages genuinely help people rather than only which get traffic. It contains no personal information.

The contact form

If you send a message we receive your name, your email address and what you wrote. It goes to one mailbox, we use it to reply to you, and it is not added to a mailing list or sold. There is no mailing list.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. The contact form also holds an IP address briefly in memory to enforce a rate limit; that is discarded within an hour and never stored.

What we do not do

• No mailing list. There is nothing to subscribe to and no newsletter.
• No accounts. There is nothing to log into.
• No selling or sharing of data. Not to advertisers, not to anyone.
• No advertising network. The site carries no display ads and no ad-network tracking.
• No profiles. We do not build audience segments or retarget visitors.

Affiliate links

Buy links on this site are affiliate links. When you click one you are taken to Amazon through a redirect on our own domain, and Amazon may set a cookie to attribute a purchase to us. Amazon does not tell us who you are or what you bought — we see aggregate commission, never an individual order. The disclosure page explains the arrangement in full.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics may set cookies as described above, and Amazon may set one when you follow a buy link. Your browser can block or clear both, and the site works normally if you do.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. In practice the only personal data we hold is whatever you sent us in a message. Email `info@creasecontrol.com` and we will act on it.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Nothing here is backdated.
