Crease Control is published by Slate Mill Group. By using the site you accept the terms below. If you disagree with them, the remedy is simply not to use it.

1. What this site is

An editorial publication about garment steamers and fabric care. It compares products on specifications their manufacturers publish, and it explains how fabrics behave under steam. It is written by one person and it does not test the products it covers — the method page says exactly what that means.

2. Information, not professional advice

Nothing here is professional garment-care, textile-conservation or safety advice. Fabrics vary, garments are constructed differently, and a care label reflects things about a specific garment that we cannot see. Where a care label and this site disagree, follow the label. For anything valuable, irreplaceable or antique, use a specialist.

3. Specifications and prices

• Every specification here was read off the product's own retail listing on the date shown, and each product page links back to that listing. Manufacturers change specifications without notice.
• Prices come from a live data layer with a 48-hour freshness gate, and each carries the date it was verified. When there is nothing fresh, no price is shown. The retailer's page is always the authority.
• Scores are computed from published specifications using a rubric we publish in full. They are an editorial opinion derived from public data, not a measurement of a product.
• We correct errors when we find them or when a reader points one out. Tell us.

4. Affiliate links

This site earns affiliate commission on qualifying purchases made through its links, at no extra cost to you, as set out on the disclosure page. We are not the seller of any product mentioned here, and we are not party to your purchase. Orders, delivery, returns, warranty and refunds are entirely between you and the retailer.

5. No warranty

The site is provided "as is". We work hard to be accurate and we cannot guarantee that every figure is current, complete or correct — particularly where a manufacturer has changed a specification or a listing has been updated since we read it.

6. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither the publisher nor the author is liable for loss or damage arising from use of this site — including damage to a garment, a purchase that turned out to be unsuitable, or a price that had changed by the time you clicked. Steam is hot and appliances that heat water carry real risks; follow your machine's manual, which is written for your specific machine.

7. Intellectual property

The words, tables, scoring rubric and layout of this site are ours. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back. Wholesale copying, republication or use of this content to train a commercial model without permission is not permitted. Product photography belongs to the respective manufacturers and retailers, and editorial photography is used under license.

8. External links

We link to retailers, manufacturers and other publications. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, their terms or their privacy practices.

9. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a rate that degrades it for other readers, or misuse the contact form. The form is rate-limited and abuse is blocked.

10. Changes

These terms may change; the date at the top of this page changes when they do. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
